1st Line Mobile Technician 

Responsible to: IT Services Lead / Senior 1st Line Technician

Salary: SC3 5-6 (£19,048 – £19,430)

Location: Based in Redditch –requirement to travel to schools supported by Lourdes IT.

Working Pattern: 37.5hrs per week – full time, full year. 

Job Purpose:

  • To ensure the smooth running of the Lourdes IT networks
  • To provide outstanding, pro-active, accessible support to all users.
  • To enable exciting teaching and learning using IT
  • To enable collaborative working and reduced workload for all staff
  • To provide support to users across supported schools via the central helpdesk
  • To provide first line, onsite support to schools supported by Lourdes IT.
  • To provide support for Lourdes IT/Academy events outside normal working hours

Lourdes IT are looking for friendly, helpful and hard working professionals that would like to work for a forward thinking IT Support team, in Redditch, near Birmingham.

Lourdes IT support a large number of schools with onsite IT support, Broadband provision and SIMS support – our 1st line technicians are providing amazing support in our supported schools.

Following a weekly rota you will visit schools and work through their open tickets. You will also provide remote support and answer our helpdesk calls.

We use FreshDesk for our helpdesk, and actively use Office365 throughout all we do. You will be provided with a laptop and a mobile to keep in touch, and there are half termly training sessions for all our technicans.

Being supported in all you do by our experienced 2nd and 3rd line teams means you are never on your own, and always able to learn new skills.

You will need a mode of transport to get you to and from our schools in Worcestershire.

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in IT, and a proven record in customer service. We are a large team, and are actively growing – having someone who is excited to start a career in IT, and works hard for themselves, the team and our supported schools is our goal.

  • To provide a second line support knowledge, to resolve more complex and larger impact issues.
  • To provide support for Lourdes IT/Academy events outside normal working hours

You will be based centrally, with the requirement to provide some onsite support on a rota, and provide cover for 1st line technicians.You will also provide remote support and answer our helpdesk calls as part of the 2nd line team.

We use FreshDesk for our helpdesk, and actively use Office365 throughout all we do. You will be provided with a laptop and a mobile to keep in touch, and there are half termly training sessions for all our technicans.

As a second line, you will work on the server infrastructure (Hyper V, Failover Clusters, Azure, Server 16/19, Veeam) and Office365 management among other tasks

Being supported in all you do by our experienced 2nd and 3rd line teams means you are never on your own, and always able to learn new skills. As a member of the 2nd line team, you will also pass on your knowledge and experience to 1st Lines.

You will need a mode of transport to get you to and from our schools in Worcestershire.
