Fantastic work environment

We have worked hard to develop a stunning working environment for our team. Outside of schools, and well resourced - a great place to work with your team mates.

Fantastic team environment

Surrounded by like minded individuals, all with an important role to play - we come together as a team to support and develop each other at every chance

A career - not a job. Grow with us

We believe in developing from within our team. Many of our senior members are homegrown talent. We know our staff are vital to our success.

Learning and development

We don't like to go with the flow. We want our schools to be pushing the boundaries - so we encourage our staff to do this as well. Learn on the job.

What is it like to work for us?

"Working at Lourdes IT has made a really positive impact on my lifestyle both professionally and personally. Being part of this organisation, they are focused on providing not only secure and versatile networks across their schools. But also a fantastic customer experience to boot! The management team at Lourdes are really approachable and friendly. They want to hear ideas and suggestions from the bottom up and actively work to always improve their processes."

Our team works in a tiered structure. Supporting each other as well as our schools.

Our first lines work in the schools, from our helpdesk to provide reactive support. It’s a great opportunity to learn skills. At every stage, you are supported by our second and third line teams. You will also be offered development time back at our office.

Our second line colleagues are primarily office based, but do visit schools when required. They man the helpdesk, support 1st line colleagues and work on projects at our schools.

Our third line team (Service Lead) pro-actively develop our people and our networks, as well as our business – as well as resolving the most difficult issues.

We are supported by finance and admin colleagues.

Our team is part of the Our Lady of Lourdes Central Team, and we are all employed by the Multi Academy Company.

We are proud to use some of the most advanced technology to provide our networks and our support.

Being independent, and a fairly small team, we can quickly adapt to new technology.

Helpdesk – FreshDesk

We use the powerful FreshDesk software to deliver the best support possible.

Office365

All our schools use Office365, and we engage in training and support to ensure staff and pupils get the most from it.

Hyper-V

Our schools use Hyper V, and in many cases Hyper V Failover clusters to ensure they are robust and reliable.

Other tools

  • Veeam for backups
  • PaperCut for print management
  • A wide range of Wireless Networks
  • HP and Netgear switches

We believe in being:

Friendly

In life it is nice to be nice. And, when you are stressed because technology isn’t working, there is nothing more important then a friendly face to assist.

Helpful

Understanding an issue, and how to work around it is a key skill, and going out of your way to provide additional support really impacts our users, we want to be approachable and to be told issues, so we can sort them out.

Pro-active

We want to resolve issues before they occur, if we can do this – we can change the way IT is used in schools to being more about engaging with the staff and tools, then being frustrated when things are not working. This means moving technology forward to ensure we are always at the cutting edge.

Ethos for our staff

If you are happy, and enjoying your job – you will be performing well. If we are flexible and supportive of you, we believe you will be back.

If your hard work has helped us grow, you should grow with us.

We really appreciate that our staff are the core of our business.

There is no other place like Lourdes IT in education to work.

That is partly down to our ethos, but also down to the fact that there are so many of working together. Meaning if you need support it is there.

We also actively promote from within. When you are ready (and we will help you get there) we are growing and able to offer you progression opportunities.

We offer half termly internal training, we allow visits to vendor and supplier events, to BETT, time out to learn and apprenticeships

  • 25 days holiday (some roles allow you to take this in term time) rising to 30 days after 5 years – plus bank holidays.
  • Fantastic working environment
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
