Welcome

“We are delighted to inform you that Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy and Holy Family Catholic Multi-Academy have agreed to join to create a larger company.”

This merger is in line with the wider Archdiocese Academy Strategy. We continue to be supported by the Diocesan Education Service in this and are working closely with them to form the new company within the next six months.

The formation of a larger Multi Academy Company will build on the strong links already forged across the existing multi-academy companies.

The merger offers an exciting future for all involved, enabling further
development of educational excellence firmly rooted within our Catholic ethos, through committed staff, for the benefit of our children, young people, and the wider community. We look forward to this new, shared future with great enthusiasm, and with determination to secure the future of Catholic Education for the benefit of all our pupils.

Academies are publicly funded independent schools that are not managed by a local authority but their funding and accountability is directly with the DfE (Department for Education).

What is a Multi-Academy Company?

A Multi-Academy Trust or academy chain is an academy trust that operates more than one academy school. Academy schools are state-funded schools in England which are directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control.

Why the proposed merger of established Multi-Academies?

The formation of a larger Multi Academy Company will build on the strong links already forged across the existing multi-academy companies.

The merger offers an exciting future for all involved, enabling further development of educational excellence firmly rooted within our Catholic ethos, through committed staff, for the benefit of our children, young people, and the wider community. Further benefits include:

  • Greater support for operational support of the school such as finance, HR and sites
  • Premises Access to a wider range of CPD opportunities for all staff
  • Opportunity to work closely with other schools to develop the curriculum to meet the needs of our children

Holy Family MAC

Gospel values are at the centre of all we do. We seek to develop the whole person through nurturing each pupil’s individual gifts in an environment where every child is treated with care and respect.

The Holy Family Catholic MAC is a family of schools united together in Christ to provide an outstanding education for pupils between the ages of 3 and 19. The curriculum is rich and exciting, designed to engage, inspire and encourage all our pupils to develop skills, acquire knowledge and grow in our Catholic faith, creating within them a lifelong love of learning and fulfilment of their unique role in God’s creation.

    Our Lady of Lourdes MAC

“The mission of schools is to develop a sense of truth, of what is good and beautiful. And this occurs through a rich path made up of many ingredients.” Pope Francis

Our Lady of Lourdes MAC was founded in 2014 and was one of the first Multi-academies in the Archdiocese of Birmingham. All schools within the Multi-academy are part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham and share in the mission to announce the joy of the Gospel by making Christ known today through securing, protecting and improving the provision of Catholic Education.
